Apply for a Norwegian ID number

The Norwegian ID number is an 11 digit personal identifier, issued by the Norwegian National Registry (Folkeregisteret).

Where: Skatteetaten/ Tax office, Nonnesetergaten 4
Office hours Monday-Friday 9:00-15:00
When:After you have received all the documents listed below
What you need:
  • Passport or ID card (must include information about gender)
  • Residence registration certificate (EU/EEA/EFTA citizens)
  • Residence card (NON-EU/EEA/EFTA citizens)
  • Tenancy agreement with your address in Bergen
  • The form ‘Report a move to Norway from abroad’ (RF-1401)
