Main content

This is part of the Museum Project 2014 in which, among other things, the roof, the windows, and the outer walls of the museum building will be renovated and safeguarded. Simultaneously, an extensive restoration of the unique whale skeletons in the Whale Hall will take place. But all parts of Bergen Museum are not closed, and visitors are warmly welcomed to the Cultural History Collections at Haakon Sheteligs plass 10 and to the Museum Garden – where there is plenty of exciting things to see as spring is drawing near.

The outer restoration work is only the first part of the Museum Project 2014 where the aim is to renew Bergen Museum and the monumental building at Muséplass. And not least, preparations concerning the content of the building, the facilities, the rebuilding, and the new exhibitions have started. In addition, work is being carried out to establish new storage facilities for the scientific collections at other locations.
