The spectacular building from 1865 will over the next couple of years be refurbished into a functional building for dissemination and communication of research. But central parts of the building and some exhibitions have been listed.

The main objective is to both renew and at the same time preserve the historic atmosphere in the ”Animal Museum” at Nygårdshøyden, which many Bergenites and tourists have had the pleasure of experiencing throughout the times.

Experience the very heart and soul of the Museum, its side corridors and the tower room. Listen to the exciting future plans for the Museum. What would you like to see and experience when you visit the Museum in the future? What do you feel is missing in our exhibitions? And, what is worth taking care of?
