The Norwegian Constitution "VI: 1814 - 2014"

Main content

The exhibition on the Norwegian Constitution «VI: 1814 – 2014» presents developments in our Norwegian  political culture, our state ruled by justice, our representative government, and will raise the issue of the challenges a democracy like Norway is facing today.

Based on the Constitution and the development onwards from 1814 and up until today, the exhibition focuses on important issues associated with Norway’s democracy, its welfare state and state ruled by justice, which are characterised by diversity and an increasing global influence. Division of powers, participation, and freedom of expression, surveillance, punishment, rights and personal engagement and responsibility are examples of topics that will be shed light on. The exhibition design is innovative and will act as an incentive for debate and engagement.
