The staff at the Department of Natural History teaches a number of subjects within biosystematics, evolution and paleobiology.

The teaching is administered by the Department of Biology and is part of the Department’s portfolio of learning programmes. For a complete overview of subjects and course descriptions, please click into the student portal studentportalen at UiB.

The University Museum of Bergen is also participating in the Norwegian-Swedish Research School in Biosystematics.

Our staff has great expertise in the subjects evolutionary biology, taxonomy and phylogenetic systematics, faunistics and floristics. We also teach several subjects related to climate research and environmental change in a historical perspective, with emphasis on fossilised material like pollen, head capsules of mosquito larvae and skeletal remains of vertebrates.
