Supercourse Mirroring and Downloading

Supercourse Mirror List    Supercourse Front Page

October/14/2003

  • Currently the whole Supercourse is about 650MB consisting of 1500 lectures. One needs about 800MB hard disk space to install all files.
  • Downloading some lectures: One can directly access Supercourse FTP server and download some of the lectures or all lectures as well (updated everyday automatically). The access information is as below:

    Host: unixs.cis.pitt.edu
    User: superone
    Password: mirror
    Destination folder:/mirror/public/html/lecture

  • Supercourse CD-ROM: If you need the Supercourse CD-ROM (November 2002 edition with 1000 lectures), please contact Dr. Mita Lovalekar  MitaL@pitt.edu and let us know your complete mailing address. We will send you CD free of charge.
  • Mirror site listserv: If you want to be informed of regular update of your mirror site, please contact Dr. EunRyoung Sa eunsa@pitt.edu. We will inform you whenever a newer version is available in this page.
  • Mirror site updating: For mirror updating, mirror administrators can download only those newly uploaded lecture files. For instance, in the file "lec1001-1100.zip", the numbers indicate lecture numbers archived in the file, which means the file includes 100 lectures from "lecture1001 through lecture1100". In the same manner, the file "lec801-1000.zip" includes 200 lectures from "lecture801 through lecture1000". The only difference is with the file "lec-special.zip". It includes all the rest of lectures otherwise included in other lecture files. It usually includes special series of lectures.

For each update, mirror administrators need to download only "Base.zip", "lec-special.zip", and "new lecture files".

  • Installation: Please contact Dr. EunRyoung Sa eunsa@pitt.edu before you install.
  • Questions or Problems: For any inquiries, please contact Dr. EunRyoung Sa eunsa@pitt.edu
