The University of Bergen has signed bilateral agreements with universities, research institutions and academic centres of excellence in all parts of the world.

Joint exchange programme with University of Washington and Memorial University
The agreement for exchange of academic staff with University of Washington and the University of Bergen has existed for more than 25 years. Memorial University is also included in this programme.

Collaboration Programme between University of Bergen and Makerere University
On 18. November 1999 a frame agreement on research collaboration, scientific competence building, student and staff exchange, and institutional development was signed between University of Bergen and Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. The agreement has a time frame of fifteen years.
