Exchange Programme

The agreement for exchange of academic staff with University of Washington and the University of Bergen has existed for more than 25 years. Memorial University of Newfoundland is also included in this programme. Throughout the years well over 100 researchers have participated in this exchange programme.This collaboration has resulted in an increased international orientation for UiB, and our positive relationships with UW and MUN is regarded some of UiB's most valuable.

Application Procedure

The next application round will take place in autumn 2007. Application should be typewritten. All applications must be approved by the applicants' own department and faculty. Each faculty should provide a prioritised list of applicants from their own departments. This list should be sent to the Department of Research Management together with the application. Application deadline is 1 November, 2007.

It is recommended that candidates contact the relevant departments at their prospective host universities, and obtain an informal invitation from that department before submitting the formal application to the Exchange Committee. Application forms can be downloaded here.
