Institutional cooperation

The University of Bergen has approximately 100 bilateral agreements of co-operation with other universities, outside the Socrates/Erasmus programme, aiming at long-term collaborative ties with selected partner universities. A list of bilateral agreements outside the Socrates/Erasmus programme can be found in the web portal for prospective international students.

Some agreements with universities in developing countries are aiming at collaboration through the NUFU and NORAD agreements. In 1999 a comprehensive agreement of this kind was established with Makerere University, Uganda. See the MU - UoB collaboration web pages for more information.

The University of Bergen is a member of Worldwide Universities Network
(WUN)
which plays an essential role at executive and administrative levels in creating conditions for increased inter-university cooperation at an international level. More about WUN at UiB.

At the same time, UoB is an active participator in the Erasmus and Nordplus programmes. In addition, the university is member of several European institutional networks and associations.
