Centre for Pharmacy has the leading responsibility for Pharmacy education and research at the University of Bergen in cooperation with other departments who conduct pharmacy research. The centre is organizationally placed under Department of Clinical Science, and administers an operating budget.

Aase Merethe Raddum’s dissertation
In her phd period, Centre for Pharmacy alumn Aase Merethe Raddum has investigated a possible new drug target for cancer therapy. Friday 21st of June 2013 she defended her thesis «Annexin A2 as a target for anti-angiogenic therapy».

The sixth Nordic Social Pharmacy and Health Research Conference were held in Gothenburg 12-13th of June. The main theme for the conference was "Striving for equality in research participation and the implications for care".

Knowledge of pharmaceutics makes pharmacists unique
In his lecture «Compaction of granular solids and implications for the formulation and manufacturing of tablets” Professor Göran Alderborn elaborated how knowledge of particle properties and technical processes in production of pharmaceuticals is important for how the medicines work therapeutically. Knowledge which is crucial in the education of pharmacists and make them an important and irreplaceable brick in the society, Professor Alderborn emphasized.

Dissertation - Tove Ragna Reksten
We are proud to announce that Tove Ragna Reksten is the first pharmacist with a degree from the University of Bergen to become a philosophiae doctor (PhD). This historic event occured on 21st of December, less than ten years after the first students enrolled at Centre for Pharmacy.
