Characterisation of hazardous chemical contamination – from environmental chemistry and toxicology to risk assessment

Workshop objectives

• To present, discuss and critically evaluate state-of-the-art environmental research tools and approaches available or being developed for identification and prioritization of environmental contaminants;
• Implementation of the European environmental policy in the region – the interaction among scientists and regional authorities as a critical prerequisite towards a comprehensive environmental risk assessment, scientifically-based and cost-effective management of water resources;
• To facilitate the dissemination of the results and outcomes of the NATO SfP Project and related national and EU projects.
