Chemistry's research groups
The department has recently been reorganized into eight research groups. These groups reflect the span in research activities, from fundamental molecular-level theoretical and spectroscopic investigations, synthesis and investigation of complex organic molecules to applied studies related to petroleum exploration and the chemical process industry.

Department of Chemistry is one of eight departments organized under The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MN-faculty) at The University of Bergen (UoB). The faculty is one of six faculties organized under the University Board.
