EURLING
Understanding linguistic complexity in political discourse
The EURLING project is a multidisciplinary task force consisting of renowned scholars from within the fields
of linguistics, rhetorics, history and political science. The project's main challenge will be to understand the
relation between, on the one hand, attested verbal utterances produced by politicians in debates on the
European integration and, on the other hand, the rhetorical and historical-political circumstances in which
these utterances appear.

EURUN Pilot project
The Eurun project was the predecessor of EURLING and took place from 2005 till autumn 2007. As the project matured, aims and research questions were slightly changed and when a revised project proposal was written in 2007, the project name was changed to EURLING.The Eurun group consisted of the following scholars:
