IMMUNOLOGY COURSES - an overview

The following courses are the foundation of the Bergen Research School in Inflammation (BRSI) activity. All courses are officially approved by the University of Bergen, and primarily taught in English. 

HUIMM901 - Project seminar - 3 credits* 
• Coordinator: Roland Jonsson (roland.jonsson@gades.uib.no) 
• Project seminars, continuous, spring and autumn semester. 
• Highly recommended for all students at the Research School, all participants/students have to present their project at least once. 
• Requirements: At least 80% attendance for 2 or more semesters. 
• Assessment: Approved when requirements are fulfilled (formative). 

HUIMM902 - Journal club and watch - 3 credits 
• Coordinator: Karl A. Brokstad (karl.brokstad@gades.uib.no) 
• Journal Club, continuous, spring and autumn semester. 
• Highly recommended for all students at the Research School, all participants/students have to present a paper at least once. 
• Requirements: At least 80% attendance for 2 or more semesters. 
• Assessment: Approved when requirements are fulfilled (formative). 

HUIMM903 - Human immunobiology - 10 credits 
• Coordinator: Karl A. Brokstad (karl.brokstad@gades.uib.no) 
• A course in basic and advanced immunology. Every spring semester 
• Assessment: Short Essay, Oral Exam, (formative) (pass/fail) 

HUIMM904 - Molecular and cellular methods in immunology - 15 credits 
• Coordinator: Silke Appel (silke.appel@gades.uib.no) 
• A methodology course, every late spring/early summer 
• Assessment: Laboratory report (formative) (pass/fail) 

HUIMM905 - Advanced Immunology course, variable theme - 3 credits 
• Coordinator: Oddmund Bakke (oddmund.bakke@gades.uib.no) 
• Lecture workshop, biannual/variable, advanced immunology 
• Varying content, invited speakers with expertise in a particular immunology field 
• Assessment: Approved when requirements are fulfilled (formative). 

* credits = studiepoeng** / 1 credit = 1 ECTS
** 3 studiepoeng = 1 vektall (old system)
