Student mobility
Just like the city of Bergen, the University of Bergen (UiB) has had an international outlook since its foundation, and it is strongly committed to international collaboration in education. Judged by the proportion of incoming and outgoing international students, the University of Bergen is the most international university in Norway.
The University of Bergen has many bilateral collaboration agreements with renowned universities around the world. UiB is a member of several European university networks, including the Coimbra Group and the Utrecht network.
Every year we welcome around 700 exchange students at UiB, and at the same time 600 UiB students go abroad for an exchange period.
Every year in January - in week 3 - UiB's International Week takes place.
During International week we want to inspire our students at the University of Bergen to broaden their international experience by studying abroad. We want to provide them with good information on how, when and where they can travel abroad as a part of their studies.
All faculties arrange events, stands and presentations. International students are most welcome to join their faculties at the stands and attend the various cultural events during the week.
