  The Research School started in September 2004 and offers a program based on a flexible yearly cycle.

  Forskerskolen har som hovedmålsetninger:
  * Å styrke forskerutdanningen innen translasjonell kreftforskning.
  * Å øke det vitenskapelige samarbeidet mellom forskningsgrupper innen basal, paraklinisk og klinisk kreftforskning.
  * Å gi ny innsikt i mekanismer som driver tumor progresjon.
  * Å finne og validere ukjente mål for terapi.
  
  
• Bergen Research School in Inflammation
  The Research School is focused on the field of inflammation • Chronic and acute inflammation • Autoimmunity • Mucosal immunobiology • Infectious disease, pathogen-host interaction and immunity • Matrix biology • Regulation and control of the immune system • Relation to genetic background and gene expression
  
  
• Forskerskole i klinisk medisin
  The objectives of the Postgraduate School of Clinical Medical Research are:
  * To give PhD students an optimal and effective training and supervision in methods of clinical medical research
  * To establish a network for clinical researchers, and
  * To increase the awareness of health workers, health authorities, governments and the public concerning clinical medical research and its consequences for diagnosis and treatment of disabling and life-threatening diseases

  Målsettingene for ISFs forskerskole er:
  * Styrke forskerutdanningsmiljøet ved ISF
  * Sikre kvalitet på forskningen ved ISF
  * Stimulere flerfaglig forskningssamarbeid
  * Styrke felleskapsfølelse og identitet blant kandidatene
  * Etablere nye kurstilbud innen forskerutdanningen
