Section of Nursing Sciences

Nursing Science involves the study of those basic prerequisites which govern the human condition in the case of loss of health, and the prevention of sickness at different stages of the human lifespan. The study of Nursing Science aims at providing students with insight regarding the predicaments the individual and his/her family face in case of illness, injury, handicap, or terminal disease. The study also provides a deeper understanding of nursing matters, as well as theoretical and methodological insight and research skills. In addition to the study programme, which consists of master's degree studies and doctoral studies, the Section of Nursing Science has established a research programme which focuses on the quality of life as related to disease, injury or handicap. Furthermore, research is focused on the analysis of main concepts of specific significance for the practice of nursing.
