Only four weeks to go to SAMSPEL ISME 2002 and the Bergen staff is ready to welcome you! The COG are very proud to present a comprehensive and fascinating programme. We believe that this World Conference will add a new dimension to the history of ISME and be a worthy conference for the 50th anniversary of the International Society for Music Education. For music educators Bergen is definitely the place to be in the second week of August this year!

Keep in mind that some of the workshop presenters on instrument pedagogy will ask you to bring an instrument. As well as that, there will be opportunities for "jamming" sessions at the Social Club.

Registration in the Grieghallen registration area from August 11th:

You will have two options for registration here:
Full delegate registration can be obtained, cash payment or credit card at the PCO desk. Day passes can only be bought at the ISME 2002 information and sale desk in the registration area. A Day pass will give you access to all presentations and lunch and afternoon concerts that day, but not the evening concerts.

Programme sachet and badge
All preregistered delegates and those who wish to register directly at the Conference are kindly asked to pick up their programme and badge in the Grieghallen on Sunday August 11th. We will provide a welcoming atmosphere and the Bergen Culture School will give concerts and performances in the Grieghallen area from 14.00 onwards to entertain you.

In order to avoid queuing on Monday morning we strongly recommend you being there on Sunday.

Opening times Registration desk:

Please note that the desk will be closed during the Opening Ceremony, Monday 11th August, 10.00-12.00.

Prelimenary programme on the internet
ISME 2002 has received very positive feedback on the preliminary programme at www.uib.no/isme2002

If you are a presenter at SAMSPEL we ask you to search for your presentation and check your title and abstract. We are updating the programme continuously and will send presenters information concerning presentation time, venue and equipment shortly.

Daily newsletter at SAMSPEL
Delegates can pick up a daily SAMSPEL newsletter in the registration area during the conference week. In the newsletter we will report from the programme, present interviews and viewpoints and important conference information.

Information and sales desk
The SAMSPEL information desk will open at 14.00 on Sunday 11th. Here you can get answers to questions, buy a Day pass, receive information about programme venues or information about Bergen.

SAMSPEL - the first ISME conference to present the programme on the web
The programme for SAMSPEL will be updated until the first week of August.
As there are more than 300 events, the programme may be subject to change for various reasons up until the opening of the conference.
We will also try to keep delgates updated on conference information. You can click on to www.uib.no/isme2002 at any time and check for news and updates.
