Admission to elective courses
The Faculty of Law offers various courses as a supplement for graduates or as an interdisciplinary specialization.
Who can apply?
- Cand. jur and Master’s graduates in Law whose entitlement to admission has lapsed.
- Law students from the University of Oslo and the University of Tromsø who have reached the elective part of their courses.
- Students from other UiB faculties who are at the end of their Bachelor programme or are taking a Master’s degree.
- Applicants without the above-mentioned formal university background can apply on the basis of documented equivalent practical experience.
In all of the above cases, the faculty will carry out an individual assessment of the applicant on the basis of their subject combinations, academic university background, equivalent practical experience and their motivation for applying for admission.
Deadline for applications
The application deadline is 1 August for the autumn semester and 2 January for the spring semester. Applications received after these dates will not be considered.
Application form
The application form is to the right hand side of the page. It must be submitted to the faculty within the stipulated deadline.
Students from other faculties at UiB who are at the end of their Bachelor programme or are taking a Master’s degree, and applicants without the above-mentioned formal university background must apply for admission to elective courses by writing a letter addressed to the Faculty of Law, P.O. Box 7806, NO-5020 Bergen.
The application should be marked "Admission to elective courses". Applications will be considered individually on the basis of the enclosed documentation.
