On 18. November 1999 a frame agreement on research collaboration, scientific competence building, student and staff exchange, and institutional development was signed between University of Bergen and Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. The agreement has a time frame of fifteen years.
The agreement is an important element in the strategic work between scientists from the two academic institutions. Collaboration between the two universities can be established in any field of mutual interest relevant to the objectives of the two universities.
Projects complying with the conditions of the Frame Agreement, are regarded as part of the collaboration, irrespective of financial backing.
