Admission to doctoral education

Admission requirements are based on the University of Bergen's rules and additional guidelines for the Faculty Medicine and Dentistry. The following outlines procedures for admission to the programme of doctoral education.

  • Admission - Summary

    Requirements upon admission to the programme of doctoral education and the process of submitting the application.

  • Plan for the training component

    The training component is made up by a compulsory and an elective part, and shall contain activities which correspond to at least 30 ECTS credits.

  • Admission agreement

    All those admitted to the programme of doctoral education at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry must sign a written agreement.

  • Account at UiB

    All doctoral candidates must open an account at UiB, which will give them access to UIB's computer systems.

  • Guidelines for applicants to research fellowships at UiB

    Research-fellow positions vacant at the university are announced regularly and advertised in the daily press and on the University of Bergen’s web-pages.
