Plan for the training component
The training component is made up by a compulsory and an elective part, and shall contain activities which correspond to at least 30 ECTS credits.
The application for admission must include a plan for the training component, even if the plan is likely to change during your PhD period. The plan should include the following:
Compulsory part:
- Basic Course in Medical and Health Related Research - MEDMET1: 8 ECTS Credits
(can be replaced with INTH301, especially relevant for quota students)
- Scientific dissemination, approved under the course code FORMIDL901: 6 ECTS Credits
- Midway Evaluation - 1 ECTS credit
- Animal Laboratory course (for candidates who work with animals)
Elective part, examples:
- Research courses at the UiB or elsewhere
- Research stays abroad
- Medical or odontological speciality, approved in Norway
Please note that all activities, apart from UiB courses, must be documented.
