CLEEN Workshop 2014

CLEEN workshop with dates

Hovedinnhold

The Centre for Competition Policy of the University of East Anglia, UK, hosted the 8th Competition Law and Economics European Network (CLEEN)[1] Workshop on June 11 and 11, 2014. This workshop brings together different PhD candidates and other young post doctor researchers working in the field of competition law and competition economics.

The CLEEN workshop gathered more than 40 young researchers disseminating their research in the fields of:

  • Empirical Issues
  • Mergers
  • Collusion
  • Institutions and regulation
  • Regulated Sectors
  • Healthcare
  • Buyer Power

Two members of our Research Group, Asst. Prof. Ronny Gjendemsjø and PhD candidate Ignacio Herrera Anchustegui alongisde with other associates at BECCLE took part of this event.

Ignacio had a presentation on the use of law and economics entitled “An economically informed analysis of the law” discussing up to what extent and how economics are integrated in his research on buyer power. Among other issues, it was argued that economics are an important part of the legal analysis of competition law but that incorporation of economic arguments must be made as part of the legal reasoning and teleological interpretation of EU competition rules. If you wish to know more about this presentation, please contact Ignacio directly.
