THE FIRST STEPS OF BULGARIAN PIANO MUSIC

Et konsertforedrag ved Meglena Apostolova, førsteamanuensis ved PhD in Music from Shumen University “Konstantin Preslavsky” Bulgaria.

Dr. Meglena Apostolova is Associate Professor of piano at the Konstantin Preslavski University in Shumen, Bulgaria. She gained her Masters Degree in Music Education in 1982, her PhD in Music in 1995 and was appointed Associate Professor in 1998. She was the first Dean of the Faculty of Music Pedagogy in Shumen University and one of the founders of the Faculty of Art Education in the University. Dr. Apostolova has substantial international experience having lived and worked in the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, Bahrain, Oman, Tanzania and Malawi.

 

Dr. Apostolova is going to give a lecture and piano recital on: “The first steps of Bulgarian piano music”. We will be able to hear some historical facts about Bulgaria and its cultural and musical life, about the life and work of Anastas Stoyanov – the first Bulgarian piano-performer, piano tuner, piano teacher, piano composer and publisher.  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meglena Apostolova will perform “Bulgarian Round Dances” Volume 1 by Anastas Stoyanov – the first Bulgarian concert composition for piano.
