ukjente komponistnavn (Purcell, Willby, Arne, Stanley, Galliard,
Vivaldi, Schein, Handel) fra 15-, 16- og 1700-tallene. Stykkene
presenteres av utoverne, som star i alfabetisk rekkefolge over.
This academic year the early music students have been
working on material that may not usually be included in the
canon of baroque music history. The students are both experimenting
with the repertoire and exploring what may constitute
early music. The work has led to a concert programme where
style and personal interpretation characterize the performances.
In the early music group conventional and accepted
classical norms are not the deciding factor, but rather exploration
of techniques and methods that can challenge the view
of “classical music”, a concept that may carry some negative
connotations.
On the programme is music by a number of famous and
unfamiliar composers (Purcell, Willby, Arne, Stanley, Galliard,
Vivaldi, Schein, Handel) from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries.
The works are presented by the performers (listed in alphabetical
order above.)
