Fellesseminar: A Guide to Activating Students in Lectures by Using Peer Instruction

Hovedinnhold

Peer Instruction is a teaching method with proven effect on student learning. It is relatively simple to use, and thus provides an excellent way to begin incorporating student active teaching methods into university courses - or to broaden the range of such methods for those already employing other student active methods. In this talk, I will introduce Peer Instruction through explanation, examples and by engaging the audience. To help those who would like to use Peer Instruction in their own teaching, I will discuss how to design your own questions, different delivery technologies available, and considerations of the larger context - how to make space for Peer Instruction in an already established course and how to use the feedback to improve the course.
