The SUN (Steering Universities) project

Project leader for the Norwegian part: Professor Ivar Bleiklie.

The project's goals:

1) Comparing policy development and implementation of management processes in universities in Western Europe

2) analyze the changes in research funding and research training at universities on the micro level

3) test the validity of theoretical models such as NPM and governance in the interpretation of government and propose alternative models

4) test the validity of the convergence hypothesis.

The project is concluded.
