Admission to Undergraduate/Bachelor's Programmes

All our undergraduate programmes are taught in Norwegian and require Norwegian language proficiency.

Hovedinnhold

Our undergraduate study programmes include bachelor's programmes, 5 years integrated master's programmes, 1 year programmes, and professional study programmes in medicine, dentistry and psychology.

No undergraduate programmes taught in English

The University of Bergen (UiB) does not offer any undergraduate study programmes specifically for international students. All our undergraduate programmes are therefore taught in Norwegian and require Norwegian language proficiency.

If you are interested in study programmes taught in English, you may find relevant programmes at other Norwegian colleges/universities at the website Study in Norway.

Applications and entrance requirements

You apply for admission to undergraduate study programmes through the Norwegian Universities and Colleges Admission Service (NUCAS).

To apply for admission to our undergraduate programmes, you must meet the following requirements:

  • General entrance requirements
  • Norwegian and English language requirements
  • Specific entrance requirements for some study programmes

Detailed information about all the entrance requirements is available at NUCAS' website.

UiB does not offer preparatory courses

UiB does not offer preparatory courses in the Norwegian language, pre-medicine or similar courses for persons who live abroad in order to qualify for undergraduate studies. You must organise any such preparatory courses you may need on your own.
