The Purchasing Section
The Purchasing Section is responsible for all overriding purchasing activities at the University of Bergen, including standard contracts, invitations to tender, and negotiating and signing framework agreements and individual contracts. The section provides specialist purchasing guidance to university departments and institutes, and establishes and maintains contracts and purchasing systems.
The University of Bergen purchases goods and services for almost NOK 1 billion a year. These purchases are a necessary precondition for running the university, and purchases account for 25 - 30% of UiB’s budget. The Purchasing Section is a part of the Finance Department and has a staff of seven.
