The scope of the Orthopedic Biomaterials Project is to provide a research-oriented and a manufacturer-independent arena in the field of artificial materials and medical devices used in reconstructive surgery. It represents an interaction between the clinical activities at the hospital and the research facilities of the University of Bergen, Norway. Thus, it is an arena for translational research.

The Grieg Foundation supports acquisition of new research equipment for studying nano-response with orthopedic materials.

Zouhir Allouni works on physical properties of nanoparticles. He has presently a short-term employment in the project.
