Marte Bjørk arbeider hovedsakelig med populasjonsbaserte undersøkelser på mennesker med nevrologiske sykdommer. Hun undersøker blant annet hvordan mors epilepsisykdom påvirker graviditet, fødsel og barnets videre utvikling. Hun er også involvert i forskning på bakenforliggende årsaker til migreneanfall gjennom bruk av nevrofysiologiske metoder. 

Hovedveileder for 2 PhD kandidater innenfor nevroepidemiologi. Bedside undervisning av medisinstudenter innenfor klinisk nevrologi.

Utdanning: Cand med 2007. Medisinsk profesjonsstudium med forskerlinje, Norges teknisk vitenskapelige universitet (NTNU).

PhD i Nevrovitenskap, NTNU 2011. PhD avhandlingen omhandlet hjernerytmenes betydning for forståelse av anfallsutløsende faktorer ved migrene.  

Fra 2010 lege i spesialisering ved Nevrologisk avdeling med 50 % stilling som postdoktor ved Klinisk Institutt 1 siden 2012.
