Tone Marie Ektvedt is a geographer whose main focus lies in the cross-section between climate change and human impact. Her PhD work considered landscape monitoring and –changes through time in dry tropical forests, using a considerable variety of methods and up-to-date techniques in physical and human geography. Her focus of research is related to global environmental change (land use and change, climate change, biodiversity change) and human impact (logging and grazing) in dry tropical forests. She has carried out fieldwork in Peru, USA and Scandinavia, and she has been a guest researcher at University of Arizona, USA. Ektvedt has given lectures in biogeography, paleoclimatology and resource management, and she has been responsible for student excursions examining landscape changes and human interaction in Norway. Her PhD work was funded by the Research Council of Norway.
