Development of the core facilities MIC and PROBE, development and errection of more core facilities at the Faculty of Medecine and Dentistry (UiB) and at the Medical Faculty at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Developmet of efficient proceedures, marketing and administrative systems for core facility management.

Geir Olav is a Reseach Coordinator at the Department of Biomedicine (UiB), Project Leader at the Faculty of Medecine and Dentistry (UiB) and also has an adjunct position as Advisor at the Medical Faculty at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

At the Department of Biomedicine Geir Olav is Research Coordinator with responsebility for giving advanced administrative support to the FUGE funded core facilities Molecular Imaging Center (MIC) and the Proteomics Unit at UiB (PROBE). In addition he, on a project basis, supports the administration of the Department of Biomedicine within the fields of personnel-, economy- and research administration.

At the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Geir Olav is Project Leader for the Core Facility Project, aiming to embed existing core facilities at the faculty level and to organize more equipment into open access core facilities with a pay-per-service system. He is responsible for the coordinating this effort between the faculty, the departments and the single core facility and its staff as well as for developing administrative systems and proceedures to ensure the lightest possible workload in terms of administration of core facilities.

Geir Olav also has an adjunct position as Advisor at the Medical Faculty at the Norwegian University for Science and Technology (NTNU) where he provides advice to the faculty on their effort to organize equipment and personell into open core facilities with a pay-per-service system.
