My research focus lies in the intersection between law and politics. It spans legal mobilisation and judicial politics, constitution-making, election processes, human rights, transtional justice and reconciliation. A particular focus is on institutionalisation of accountability structures and the role of courts in social transformation. Main empirical focus is southern and east Africa.
