Funds/economical support
In order to finance your research project you may have to apply for additional funding to the research budget provided through the project you are involved in or from the department. There are various sources where you could apply for research or travel funding:
Meltzer foundation: PhD candidates who are particularly eligible, according to project description and grades, can apply for support to fund travel and/or research costs. The PhD candidate must be registered as a PhD candidate and the application must be supported by the supervisor. The website is in Norwegian only , but application form which opens up in October 2009 is in English.
Bergen University Funds: Researchers who have an affiliation to UiB can apply for funds to projects for dissemination and publishing of research results, including the organizing of scientific conferences and workshops. Next application deadline is 1. December 2009 at 13.00. An internet based application system will open at their website in October 2009.
