Admission to doctoral education at the Faculty of Social Sciences
Admission requirements are based on the University of Bergen’s rules and additional guidelines for the Faculty of Social Sciences. The following outlines procedures for admission to the doctoral education.
The formal requirements and procedures on admission to the doctoral education at the Faculty of Social Sciences are based on the rules pertaining to the degree of PhD at the University of Bergen, passed by the Board of the University on 12 June 2003 and which came into force on 20 June 2003.
Applicants who are appointed a research fellowship at the Faculty of Social Sciences will consequently be admitted to the doctoral education. Applicants with other sources of funding must relate to these deadlines:

Admission requirements
To be admitted, the applicant’s education, project description and plan to complete the doctoral education must be approved and adequate financing must be in place. The plan should outline both the research project and the training module.

Applications and processing them
Applications for admission are written on a special form which is then sent to the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Admission agreement
All those admitted to the organized doctoral education must sign a written agreement.
