Doctoral education at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry
The aim of the research program at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (the PhD degree) is to qualify the candidate for research activities and other kinds of work requiring a high level of scientific insight within the Faculty's research fields.
Candidates with scholarship/grant funding from universities and external sources, and who are being supervised at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, must apply for admission to the organized research training program.
The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry also administers the dr.philos. degree which the University Board of Governors has decided shall be an independent degree without supervision and organized training. The two degrees are considered equal in status.
