Graduation ceremony

The university board confers the title of doctor on the doctoral candidate on the basis of the notification that the trial lecture and defence have been approved. The diploma is presented to all new doctors at the University of Bergen from the previous semester. Doctoral presentation ceremonies are held in the Haakon´s Hall twice a year, in January and August. It is possible to invite friends and family to the ceremony. The academic environment to which the doctor belongs should be represented at the ceremony.
