Subprojects:

The research projects rest on the initiatives of the senior researchers involved in the project. Four subprojects are established under the project umbrella.

1. The first subproject is focusing on Research Methodology. An ICT-based module in research methodology is being developed in co-operation between the University of Bergen and the University of Pretoria. The work on this module is being supplemented by a peer-reviewed and edited publication with contributions from participants in the project.
   
   
2. The second subproject is titled Understanding African Knowledge Systems Through New Forms of Research. The overall objective is to develop new approaches and establish new areas of research grounded in African values. The most significant outcome of this project is the journal Indilinga. African Journal of Indigenous Knowledge Systems.
   
   
   
3. The Development of knowledge about the pedagogical implications of the introduction of ICT in education is a joint project between the two main partners in the project, the University of Pretoria and the University of Bergen. The intended outcome of this project will be a joint Masters programme in ICT and Learning (e-learning) with exchange possibilities for students.
