Department of Psychosocial Science
The Department of Psychosocial Science consists of 32 professors and
associate professors, 3 professor II, 2 assistant professors, with
an additional
doctoral student group and an administrative group of 3 persons.
The Department has a Head of Department, a vice leader for research
and a vice leader for teaching. The Department board meets regularly
once a month. Decisions regarding permanent positions are taken at
the level above (Faculty of Psychology).
The Department consists of 9 sections based on teaching responsibilities
in the professional psychology studies which have reflected, and still
reflects, representative typical strands within the psychology discipline:
Sections of cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, personality
psychology, preventive psychology, psychometrics, school and educational
psychology, social psychology, spreech theraphy, general psychology and
work and organizational psychology.
The Department is responsible for a large number of courses varying from
introductory courses to doctoral courses (approximately 80 courses each
year, not including supervision of theses at various levels, with courses
varying in magnitude from 3-30 ECTS).
