The website does not have good thematic presentations of research at UiB yet, but there is a lot of information on the individual websites of the different faculties, departments and research groups.

UiB also has several priority research areas that have their own websites.

Three tips on how to find your way around:

1. Use the search field

You will find the search field at the top right-hand corner of all the web pages on uib.no.

  • Type your search term in the field and click the magnifying glass symbol.
  • Regardless of what page you are on, you will always search the whole uib website.
  • Once you have completed your search, you will be directed to a page presenting the hits. The most relevant hits are at the top.
  • On the page with the hits, you can sort the hits alphabetically or chronologically. You can also filter your search to show specific content types or only hits from the entity you were in when you initiated your search.

2. Search in databases

You will find links to various databases and journals in the menus at the top of uib.no/research.

  • Publications: BORA (UiB’s open research archive). This database contains Master’s theses, doctoral dissertations, articles and other material.
  • Publication references: FRIDA is a database where you can find publication surveys and references for research activity at Norwegian university colleges and universities.
  • Library: BIBSYS is a library catalogue for most specialised libraries and research libraries in Norway.
  • See also the University of Bergen Library’s website, which contains links to databases and journals.

3. Use external websites

Some of the research at UiB is conducted in collaboration with departments and centres in which UiB is a partner.

Examples of this are Uni Research and the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Centre.

Most of these entities have their own websites with search functions. You can access them via the menu system at uib.no/research.
