Broad involvement and many success stories in global health
Many Norwegian stakeholders work actively to improve the access to and the quality of health services at a global scale. The Centre for International Health is one of them.
Norad recently published the report “Norwegian stakeholders’ commitment to global health” (“Norske aktørers engasjement for global helse”), in which 48 representatives of both public and private organisations gave an account of their respective efforts in this field.
The report constitutes a response to the government’s white paper on global health in foreign and development policy, which presented the following set of priorities towards 2020:
- Mobilisation for the rights and health of women and children
- Reduction of the burden of illness through preventive measures
- Promotion of human security through health
More information can be found on Norad’s website (in Norwegian).
