Funds and foundations
The University of Bergen administers several funds and foundations. They award funds for research, travel and grants in accordance with stipulated application procedures.

Bergen University Fund
The fund contributes to the university meeting the requirements of its objects clause, with particular emphasis on promoting basic research, other scholarly activity and the dissemination and publication of research at the University of Bergen.

L. Meltzers Høyskolefond
The object of the fund is to promote scholarly activity at the University of Bergen and to support particularly gifted students at the university. Grants can also be awarded to applicants from other Norwegian universities and specialised university institutions.

Bergen Research Foundation
The object of Bergen Research Foundation is to support research and research-promoting measures at the University of Bergen. Funds can also be awarded to research projects at Haukeland University Hospital.

Bergen Medical Research Foundation
The object of the foundation is to support research at the University of Bergen and Helse Bergen HF (Bergen Health Trust) at the interface between basic research and clinical medical activity – so called ‘translational research’.
