Housing
Finding suitable accomodation in Bergen can be a bit difficult, whether you are here for a short visit or staying for a long periode. Especially in the autumn, the period July - October, the rental marked is very crowded.
We have gathered some relevant information and hopefully some useful advices on what you can do to find accommodation. Usually, you should also be able to get some assistance with this task when you are new in Norway. Staff at your department will try to help you find your first flat or some type of temporarily accommodation for when you first arrive, but later we expect that you manage most of this by yourself.

University Housing
Guest Houses: The university has almost 40 rooms and a few apartments available for temporary renting.

Renting in Bergen
The demand for renting a university apartment by far exceeds existing facilities. Private housing is therefore an option that should be duly considered.

Buying Accommodation
Many Norwegians prefer owning a house rather than renting. Buying may even be cheaper than renting if you are staying in Norway for a long period.
