The research group is organized as a network consisting of staff members of the Department of Linguistic, Literary and Aesthetical studies and colleges at other universities, museums and public authorities in Norway and the Nordic countries, and for the time being, contacts in Russia and Turkey.

Seminars, conferences and activities are related to research on local architecture, recent urban development and current areas of research inside the research group. The annual Nordhagen conference, named after professor emeritus and architectural historian Per Jonas Nordhagen, takes place friday November 19, 2010.
