Bergen Cognition and Learning Group
Bergen Cognition and Learning Group (BCLG) was formed to develop competence and conduct research on educations and potentials for education in groups of people considered to be at risk for impaired intellectual and academic development.
The main collaborative projects for the time being are related to education and educational needs among inmates in Norwegian prisons, reading habits and reading skills among the inmates in Norway, and how reading skills and education are related in these groups.

Nordisk rapport om forskning på utdanning i kriminalomsorgen er tilgjengelig på engelsk
Education in the Nordic prison has been surveyed by a questionnaire in all the Nordic countries. The study is supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers. This work represents a pioneering work, and the report is also translated and published in English.

Dichotic listening is still helping to solve riddles of cognition
Patients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Show Decreased Cognitive Control
Members of the BCLG examined the influence of PTSD on cognitive control and auditory attention with a dichotic istening task. The main finding was impaired cognitive control that was partly explained by signs of intrusive memories.
