Opportunities at Biomaterials
As a consequence of the continual growth in the use, and the future potential of biomaterials there are many opportunities to undertake research at the Biomaterials Research Cluster, UiB. Opportunities vary in line with our continuing research activities which range from basic understanding of biomaterial’s, and biomechanical, principles all the way through to applied scientific research involving clinical material collected from our on-going collaborations with orthopaedic and dental clinics. Whatever your level, if you have a passion for biomaterials and would like to undertake research, feel free to contact us – we would be glad to tell you more about what we can offer on PhD, MSc, and BSc projects.
The artifical materials of medicine and dentistry
Biomaterials – synthetic or biologic materials – is an inter- and cross-disciplinary research field. Biomaterials is a research cluster based at the Department of Clinical Dentistry. The activities involve departments at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, other faculties, and external partners such as The University Dental Clinic and Haukeland University Hospital. The biomaterial activities encompass basic research and clinical studies on properties and responses to clinical biomaterials.
