Scope of activities

The research strategy is to focus on projects aimed at providing background data and tools enabling the clinician to deliver informed and “best practice” patient care. The basis for this strategy is through the conduct of well-designed, patient-centered clinical studies based on epidemiological mapping and outcome monitoring, e.g. problem identification as regards etiology and risk factors associated with disease, success of interventional procedures, prevention and health promotion with regard to lifestyle factors, nutrition, quality of life aspects as well as patient education and adherence to recommended measures.
