Methods
We use mouse as a model system in order to understand how the mammalian cells form, organize, maintain, regenerate and repair the proper three-dimensional structures of tissues and organs. Knowledge of the molecular regulation of normal development forms a basis for understanding abnormal behavior of cells, for example malignant growth in adult mammalian systems. Our research provides also fundamental, basal information for engineering biological tissues and organs to replace congenitally missing, damaged or removed organs in man in the future.
