One of the main interests of this group is in 'Pedagogikk' as a disciplinary field of research and scholarship and on the need to raise the profile, visibility and urgency of the more 'fundamental', 'general' and 'common' educational questions that arise wherever education takes place and wherever educators take responsibility for education to take place.

The Annual Bergen Educational Conversation has its origins in the work of the research group Educational Studies, and is explicitly meant to be a conversation. The contributions to the conversation are not to be seen as finished products, but as work-in-progress and thus as starting points for conversations around the main themes.
